The Uruguayan rider Juan Manuel Luzardo rode directly to the victory of the $34,600 HITS Jumper Classic in continuation of the CSI5* HITS Saugerties.
Coming to 8th FEI victories in his career, Juan Manuel Luzardo led a contested class in a course designed by German Martin Otto, making clear the Uruguayan, who is one of the main exponents of the Latin American show jumping, getting 50 World Ranking Points with his first place, next to the 13-year-old gelding Puertas So What (Quattro x Iroko) owned by Edith Stephan.
The class that began with 66 pairs was decided among 9 of the 12 riders who qualified for the jump-off, being undoubtedly the main figure Juan Manuel Luzardo surpassing American rider Laura Chapot with the 12-year-old mare Thornhill Kate (Courage II x Clover Hill).
Defined the first two spots, the third place was for British rider Amanda Derbyshire alongside the 9-year-old mare Luibanta BH (Luidam x Abantos), while the Top 5 was completed by Canadian Erynn Ballard with the 9-year-old mare Thalys Z (Thunder VD Zuuthoeve x Denard) and fifth place for Tracy Penney with the 12-year-old gelding MTM Reve Du Paradis (Crown Z x Delphi).
For the Latino Ranking led by Juan Manuel Luzardo, they also managed to finish within the points Venezuelan rider Emanuel Andrade occupying ninth place with the 16-year-old gelding U (Monaco x Calypso) and Colombian rider Carlos Ramírez did not return to the jump-off, finished tenth with 10-year-old stallion Happy Wandor Vant Roosaker (Wandor Van of Mispelaere x V Cento).
