Frenchman Julien Epaillard was fasted again at the beginning of the CSI3* Jumping Indoor Maastricht 2017, winning the €25,000 VDL Groep Prize.
The course designed by Dutch Louis Koninckx had a total of 43 pairs encouraging the regular round and 13 riders who would return to the jump-off, where the Frenchman Julien Epaillard added a new 2017 victory with the 13-year-old gelding Cristallo A LM (Casall x Corofino I) in time of 32.61 seconds, to take 50 World Ranking points.
Dominating with an advantage close to 3 seconds by Julien Epaillard against Spaniard Manuel Fernández Saro, the second place recorded a time of 35.39 seconds with the 13-year-old gelding Cannavaro 9 (Cornet Obolensky x Florestan I), while the third place was for home rider Frank Schuttert next to the 9-year-old stallion Chianti’s Champion (Champion du Lys) in 36.37 seconds.
The Top 5 was completed in fourth place by Wilton Porter of the United States with the 10-year-old stallion Caletto Cabana (Cassini I x Capecanaveral) in time of 36.50 seconds tho add World Ranking points and representing the best performance among of Pan American Ranking members, leaving in fifth place the Dutch Roelof Bril with the 12-year-old gelding Arlando (Harley Vdl x Animo) in 37.59 seconds.
By the Latino Ranking Yuri Mansur of Brazil got the last place with Ranking points in 16th place next to the 9-year-old mare Tinkerbell 31 (Incolor x Argentinus), completing his regular round in 4 fouls and 68.54 seconds. Out of the points were Andre Reichmann of Brazil finishing 22nd with the 8-year-old mare Eastern Uno (Number One x Glennridge) accumulating 8 fouls and also by South America the Argentine rider José María Larocca was not on his best day totaling 16 fouls ranked 40th with 13-year-old gelding Eliot DWS (Winningmood x King Z).
