French rider Julien Epaillard maintained his winning pace by being untouchable at the €24,600 Prix Région Occitanie.
With a disputed jump-off round designed by Jean-Francois Morand, a total of 19 classified riders led by Julien Epaillard would complete the second FEI event of the CSI3* Montpellier week, where the home rider would show the way with the 9-year-old gelding Instit de Jucaso (Cooper van de Heffinck x Darco) owned by Go Horses, managing to stop the clock at 35.93 seconds.
Finishing one-two for the French, Julien Epaillard took 50 World Ranking Points with his result and was escorted by Philippe Rozier with his 12-year-old gelding Rever de Kergane (Hornet Rose x Elan de La Cour) in time of 37.22 seconds and not too distant in third place Darragh Kenny of Ireland, who got a time of 37.74 seconds with the 11-year-old gelding Go Easy de Muze (Vigo d’Arsouilles x For Pleasure).
Protagonism for the home riders was extended to the fifth place, maintaining the perfect course that ultimately would be nine, but among the top five classified were Catherine Offner in fourth place accompanied by the 12-year-old mare Freestyle Lady (Nagano x Garanco) in 38.01 seconds and for the fifth place Thomas Leveque with the 11-year-old gelding Seurat Galotiere (Iowa x Super de Bourriere) in 40.13 seconds.
The only representative of the Pan American Ranking was American rider Kerry Mc Cahill with the 12-year-old stallion Vatson Sitte (Cardento x Chellano Z) knocking down two fence that left her in 8 fouls, failing to score points to be distant in 42nd place.
