The French rider Julien Epaillard added a new 2017 victory, getting the best presentation of the €25,000 Boehringer-Ingelheim without problems.
For second day of activities at the CSI5* Equita Lyon in France on course designed by Gregory Bodo, the home rider Julien Epaillard showed the way in Two Phases round with his 9-year-old gelding Instit de Jucaso (Cooper van de Heffinck x Darco) owned by Go Horses, registering a time of 31.69 seconds and securing 50 World Ranking Points.
In what was a true exhibition of several of the present fastest riders, Julien Epaillard surpassed Italian rider Emanuele Guadiano, who took second place with the 8-year-old stallion Chalou (Chacco Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) in time of 33.32 seconds and for third place also Italian rider Piergiorgio Bucci, completed his presentation in 33.80 seconds with the 10-year-old gelding Heartbreaker vd Achterhoe (Bentley van de Heffinck x Catango Z).
The top five finishers would be completed by Gregory Cottard of France in fourth place accompanied by the 9-year-old mare Urhelia Lutterbach (Helios de la Cour II x Emilion) in 34.35 seconds and fifth place and also home rider Robin Muhr with the 9-year-old stallion Unforgettable Damvil (Corrado x Papillon Rouge) in 34.43 seconds.
By Latino Ranking Rene Lopez of Colombia completed his Two Phases in 4 fouls and 36.81 seconds next to the 11-year-old gelding Big Brother (Untouchable 27 x Gran Corrado) owned by Darier Bertrand, being very close to adding World Ranking Points in the 17th place. On the other hand the Latino Ranking Leader Pedro Veniss from Brazil marked a more conservative rhythm with the 13-year-old stallion Quabri de L’Isle (Kannan x Socrate de Chivre), finishing in 23rd place after accumulating 6 fouls in 49 03 seconds.
