The Spanish rider Kevin Gonzalez de Zarate took the first victory for the home riders at the CSI4* Casas Novas 2017 in La Coruna, with a lead of 22 hundredths of a second.
The speed class comprised of 52 pairs on a course designed by the Spanish Javier Trenor Diaz, was disputed €25,000 Massimo Dutti Trophy led by Kevin Gonzalez de Zarate next to the 13-year-old gelding Quattila de Glos (Quito de Baussy x Roy d’Artoire), stopping the clock in 57.52 seconds and securing 50 World Ranking Points.
For second place Gudrun Patteet of Belgium stayed close in the fight recording a time of 57.70 seconds with the 12-year-old mare Sea Coast Ferly (Calato x Darco), followed in the third by another Spanish rider Diego Perez Bilbao accompanied by the 10-year old gelding Quinty du Bisson (Quartz II Adelheid Z x Oberon du Bisson), who completed their course in 58.94 seconds.
For Latino Ranking the Colombian rider Dayro Arroyave got FEI Ranking Points in 12th place, with the 12-year-old mare Adele (Cassini I x Corrado I) in time of 62.92 seconds.
