The Spaniard Kevin Gonzalez De Zarate Fernandez won the CaixaBank Grand Prix in the return of CSI 2* Santander in La Magdalena, after four years of absence the local riders were placed first and second.
The class that lived great emotions and a crowd that filled the stands to encourage every competitor from start to finish, enjoyed as the home rider Kevin Gonzalez De Zarate Fernandez took victory with the 9-year-old stallion Urbain des Grezils (l ‘Arc de Triomphe’) recording a time of 46.58 seconds.
The tiebreaker that was composed of 9 riders, had another Spanish representative occupying the second place with Alberto Marquez Galobardes next to the 10-year-old gelding Croupier V (Kannan x Carthago), finishing his course in 47.94 seconds.
Going to the Latino Ranking and keeping more distance in the third place was located Uri Rosenzweig of Chile accompanied by the 9-year- old gelding Upper (Diamand de Semilly x Nadir Di San Patrignano), allowing him to add 40 World Ranking Points. Also Venezuelan Patricia Alvarado along with the 11-year-old mare Souchka du Lys (Calvaro x Carnute) managed to score points in eighth place, completing her jump-off round in 8 fouls and 53.19 seconds, while the last Latino representative Juan Ignacio Alvarez Fermosel of Argentina, finished in 15th place with the 12-year-old mare Annabelle (Dutch Capitol x Chellano Z) totaling 8 fouls in his regular round.
