French Kevin Staut and Elky van het Indihof HDC (Toulon x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) won the main event of CSI5* Al Shaqad made Wednesday at a height of 1.50m. Being a speed class and 38 pairs encouraging competition, only 10 participants completed their tour at clear round.
Accompanied by 12-years-old mare, Staut stopped the clock at time 55.85 seconds to beat the fast Irish Bertram Allen and Molly Malone V (Kannan x Kavalier), who finished in second place recording a time of 56.93 seconds. Third place would occupy the Belgian Gregory Wathelet and 14-years-old mare Oh d’Eole (Kannan x Papillon Rouge) owned by Haras de Hus completing his court in 58.14 seconds.
The top five of competition completed in the fourth with French Roger Yves Bost “Bosty” in what certainly was a day for mares occupying the top four position, being this time the companion Bost by Sydney Une Prince (Baloubet du Rouet x Alfa d’Elle * HN) in time of 59.03 seconds and for the fifth Olvier Philippaerts of Belgium on the 14-years-old gelding H & M Challenge V. Begijnakker (Chellano Z x Palestro v. Begijnakker) very close to the French in time of 59.11 seconds.
