The fifth week of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Michigan had a new protagonist with the victory by American Kristen Vanderveen.

After a successful Tryon participation in North Carolina, now Kristen Vanderveen with a perfect and fast tiebreaker was getting her sixth FEI victory in the past two months, dominating this time the $35,000 Welcome Stake CSI2*.

Being responsible for the course design by Ireland’s Alan Wade this week, Kristen Vanderveen completed her jump-off round in 36.09 seconds with the 12-year-old stallion Bull Run’s Faustino de Tilli (Berlin x Darco) owned by Bull Run Jumper Five LLC and take 50 World Ranking Points.

For his part in a great day for the Latino Ranking’s riders, the great figure of the previous CSI3* and CSI2* Williamsburg weeks by Mexican Santiago Lambre, today was left with the second place in time of 37.57 Seconds, thus avoiding his fourth win in a row when he appeared today with the 9-year-old gelding Dingeman (Nintender x Darnels).

For third place the former leader of the Latino Ranking Samuel Parot of Chile, set the way when returning first for the jump-off with the the 12-year-old mare Romance Du Criolo (Kannan x Dandy Du Plape) and get a time of 37.63 seconds, while American rider Margie Engle took fourth place with the 8-year-old gelding Dicas (Diarado x Cassini I) at 39.07 seconds and Canadian rider Erynn Ballard was in fifth place with the 9-year-old mare Thalys Z (Thunder VD Zuuthoeve X Denard) in 39.21 seconds.

They also scored points for the Latino Ranking Mexican rider Alberto Michan alongside 11-year-old gelding Redmond (Neo D’Aunou x Joly Jumper) finishing in seventh place with 4 fouls in the jump-off, Ramiro Quintana of Argentina completed his run in 8 fouls with 9-year-old mare Iluna (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x Darco) in eighth and Colombian rider Ilan Bluman was exceeding the regular round time to be penalized with 1 fouls alongside 8-year-old gelding Enzo (Verdi TN x Amethist) in ninth place.
