Briton Laura Renwick completed a perfect day and for her memories, obtaining not only the victory in the two FEI events of the day, but also the two Mercedes-Benz that were part of her prizes.
With a total of 49 pairings for the € 102,000 Grolsch Grand Prix of Twente, Laura Renwick in company of the 11-year-old gelding Bintang II (Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve x Orlando) got an unbeatable time of 40.91 seconds in the jump-off, to surpass a group of 8 riders classified, securing 100 World Ranking Points and its second’s day vehicle.
Nothing simple seemed to be achieved today by the British rider Laura Renwick, but riders like Bertram Allen of Ireland have managed in the same show to leave with up to 4 won cars.
With a total of 5 double clear rounds finishes in the Grand Prix, second place was Frenchman Cedric Angot with the 11-year-old gelding Saxo de La Cour (Tlaloc M x Jalisco B) in 42.60 seconds, in third place Frank Schttert of the Netherlands in 44.19 seconds along with the 9-year-old stallion Chianti’s Champion (Champion Du Lys), fourth place for Swiss Beat Mändli recording 44.92 seconds with the 9-year-old mare Dibatsja (Veron x Indoctro) and in fifth place was Johnny Pals of Holland with the 14-year-old mare Wesselina (Cumano x Mytens Xx) in 46.95 seconds.
For the Pan American Ranking and Latino Ranking, the only one to score points was the Pan-American gold medalist Christine McCrea finishing in 15th place with the 12-year-old mare Nectarina B (Calvaro Z x Glendale) in a field of 4 fouls and 76.91 seconds, while for the Latinos Cassio Rivetti of Brazil, completed his field in 4 fouls and 78.52 seconds to occupy the 17th place next to the 9-year-old stallion Ulahop Boy (Lamm de Fetan x Kannan).
