British rider Laura Renwick rode fast in the first class of the Champions Tour – Vilamoura 2017 and their CSI3* week, earning 50 FEI Ranking Points.
With a total of 79 pairs the course designed by Bernardo Costa Cabral witnessed the good performance by Laura Renwick and her 11-year-old gelding Bintang II (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Orlando), stopping the clock in 70.39 seconds.
Showing her qualities in speed classes, Laura Renwick surpassed the talented Dutch rider Lisa Nooren with the 9-year-old stallion Dienellie (Berlin x Lupicor) in 71.19 seconds, while the third place ended in possession of Irish rider Darragh Kenny next to 9-year-old gelding C’Est Beau (Calido I x Grannus) recording a time of 72.37 seconds.
The Top 5 was completed by Adeline Hecart of France accompanied by the 13-year-old mare Question d’Orval (Rosire x Tu Viens Dorval) in 73.07 seconds occupying the fourth place and Luca Maria Moneta of Italy, marked a time of 73.35 seconds with the 14-year-old mare Percine Dream (Jarnac x Alcamera).
For the Latino Ranking and Pan-American Ranking Bernardo Naveillan of Chile was the most outstanding finishing in 12th place, getting World Ranking Points with the 8-year-old mare Daisy du Grand Moustier (Quaser de l’Ile x Fidji du Fleury) in 78.10 seconds. Out of the points were American rider Kerry McCahill next to 12-year-old stallion Vatson Sitte (Cardento x Chellano Z) at 18th, Brazilians Joao Victor Castro with the 11-year-old gelding Quentin PJ (Quidam of Revel x Shield 19) was 19th in 82.90 seconds, being escorted by his fellowman Felipe Ramos Guinato with the 8-year-old stallion Vuduciel One Prince (Clinton x Quidam of Revel) exceeding the time allowed to be penalized with 1 foul and the Mexican rider Jose Alfredo Hernández Ortega occupied 23rd place a little slower with 2 fouls next to the 16-year-old gelding Group Prom Jack ( Ovatio x Heartbreaker).
