The first class of the CSI5* Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show in St. Tropez was won by Frenchman Larent Guillet, when he played the Prix Bentley in double phase, getting a time of 26.31 seconds with 11-year-old gelding Sultan Du Chateau (Kannan*gfe Kwpn x Galoubet A) owned by Monsieur Felix Guillet.
With 38 pairs competing on course designed by Italy’s Uliano Vezzani, Laurent Guillet secured 50 World Ranking points with his first position, being escorted by his fellowman Julien Epaillard, who recording a time of 27.12 seconds with 13-year-old gelding Cristallo A LM (Casall x Corofino I). Sergio Alvarez Moya of Spain followed in third place accompanied by 9-year-old gelding Iron Man 111 (Chatman x Capitol I) in 27.96 seconds, for fourth place John Whitaker of Great Britain in 28.88 seconds with 9-year-old gelding Crumley (Cassus x As di Villagana) and in fifth place Jerome Guery of Belgium, registering in his double phase 28.92 seconds with 11-year-old stallion Garfield de Tiji Des Templiers (Quasimodo Z X Goldspring de Lauzelle).
For Latino Ranking Carlos López of Colombia took the 24th place with 10-year-old mare Cuplandra (Upgrade x Metall), accumulated 16 fouls in both phases, while the Mexican rider Enrique González completed the first phase in 4 faults to finish in 33rd position next to 13-year-old gelding Quilebo du Tillard (For Pleasure x Quat’sous).
Going to the Pan American Ranking Jessica Springsteen was the best placed in 19th with 14-year-old mare Davendy S (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Pachat II) and also American rider Laura Kraut finished 29th with 14-year-old mare Whitney (Indoctro x Concorde).
