Dutch rider Leopold van Asten overwhelming on the third date of the CSI5* Brussels Stephex Masters, dominating the €45,000 STX Finance.
The course designed by Italian Uliano Vezzani in a Winning Round had a total of 39 pairs, led by Leopold van Asten with the 10-year-old mare VDL Groep Miss Untouchable (Chacco-Blue x Aldatus) owned by Stoeterij Duyselshof.
With a time of 42.98 seconds, Leopold van Asten took 50 World Ranking Points, beating Briton John Whitaker and his 15-year-old stallion Argento (Arko III x Gasper), who finished in 43.66 seconds.
They were followed by completing Top 5 Germany’s Daniel Deusser in third place with a time of 44.22 seconds next to 13-year-old gelding Cornet 39 (Cornet Obolensky x Caletto I), fourth place for Belgian rider Pieter Devos alongside 9-year-old mare Claire Z (Clearway x Coronado) in 44.45 seconds and fifth place was occupied by Dutch rider Gert Jan Bruggink in 46.46 seconds with the 9-year-old gelding Casparo 26 (Calato x Marome NW).
For the Pan American ranking, the Americans were better represented by Bezzie Madden in 18th place and world number 1 Kent Farrington in 20th plase, totaling both 8 faults along with the 8-year-old gelding Con Taggio (Contagion x Golliath Life) in case of the Bezzie Madden and 11-year-old gelding Sherkan d’Amaury (Kannan x Quick Star) for Kent Farrington.
Going to the Latino Ranking Cassio Rivetti of Brazil finished in 28th place with the 9-year-old gelding Chicago Hof Eversem Z (Con Spirito R x Papillon Rouge) accumulating 10 faults and his fellowman Yuri Mansur accompanied by the 12-year-old gelding Iron Chin vh Lindenhof (Chin Chin x Nimmerdor) in 16 fouls to fill the 35th position.
