Dutch rider Leopold van Asten swept the two FEI events of CSI2* Lier in Belgium, now liquidating the €25,000 Flandria Rent Grand Prix.
Adding his second victory in a row of the week, Leopold van Asten led a complicated tiebreaker, where none of the classified riders deciphered to perfection on course designed by Belgian Marc Jozef Vygh.
Registering a time of 40.97 seconds with 13-year-old gelding VDL Groep Zidane (Heartbreaker x Calando I), Leopold van Asten knocked down a pole to totaling 4 fouls in his presentation and get another 50 World Ranking Points to completing his week with 100 points.
The second place went to Italian rider Roberto Previtali with the 8-year-old stallion Romeo 88 (Contact van de Heffinck x Orlando), securing his final position with a very conservative round, after he knocked down a pole and totalized 6 fouls in 46.16 seconds.
By the Latino Ranking stood out Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe de Azevedo Filho in an excellent performance, after achieving his tiebreaker classification, in an all-or-nothing round he ended up stopping the clock in 38.65 seconds with the best time, but not he could avoid knocking down two poles with the 9-year-old mare Cheppetta (Chepetto x Cash) and finish third, securing 40 World Ranking Points.
The top five finishers of the Grand Prix completed two Belgian rider with Ann Carton-Groot Jans in fourth place with the 9-year-old gelding Irvine Ter Doorn (Toulon x Sir Lui), exceeding the time allowed and penalized with 1 foul, while also home rider Nadège Janssen marked on blackboard an exact time of 76,02 seconds, which ensured a draw, showing up with her 9-year-old gelding Checkpoint Chacco (Chacco-Blue x Ferragamo).
