Italian Luca Maria Moneta was fabulous in the first FEI class of the week 2016 XXII Sunshine Tour at the Big Tour D, to seal the victory with a comfortable lead in a speed class to winning 50 World Ranking points.
With the 15-year-old Neptune Brecourt (Cumanus x Kayack), Moneta stopped the clock at 68.20 seconds, taking a more than two seconds advantage over his closest follower New Zealander Bruce Goodin and Cetina 10 (Cento x argentinus) recording a time of 70.45 seconds. Meanwhile the British Guy Williams would finish in third place with the horse Depardieu van’t Kiezelhof (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Latano) marking on the blackboard a time of 71.35 seconds.
The best of Pan-American Ranking and Latin Ranking was the Brazilian Pedro Veniss in eighth place with For Felicila in time of 76.68 seconds, while closing in the last qualifying spot for the FEI Ranking points in 16th, another Brazilian Luiz Francisco De Azevedo exceeding the time allowed for the round and penalized with 2 faults in 87.34 seconds. They also saw action US Alec Lawler ranked 27th, the Argentine Jose Maria Larocca in the place 32, Canadian Rebecca McGoldrick at 35 and Karina Aziz at 54, closing the group American Gabriela Mershad in the 57th.
