18-year-old American rider Lucy Deslauriers shone at the $100,000 CSI3* Grand Prix of the Ottawa International Horse Show, to add to her second victory in a row.

After winning the $40,000 CSI3* RBC Open Welcome last Thursday, now Lucy Deslauriers with the 12-year-old gelding Hester (Wandor van de Mispelaere x Palestro VD Begijnakker) would make a fulltime jump-off round in 35.88 seconds to win 80 World Ranking Points, in a perfect and insurmountable week for Deslauriers before her closest rivals.

With a total of 28 pairs participating in the course designed by the American Anthony D’Ambrosio, 7 of the riders who returned to the jump-off, they limited themselves to seeing Lucy Deslauriers in their third 2017 FEI win. For second place the “Captain Canada” Ian Millar stopped the clock in 38.07 seconds with the 14-year-old gelding Dixson (Vigo D’arsouilles x Olisco), while American rider Jonathan McCrea with the 12-year old gelding Aristoteles V (Padinus x Lux), secured the third place to mark a time of 38.20 seconds.

For the Latino Ranking the most outstanding was the Colombian rider Juan Manuel Gallego, being the last Grand Prix’s double clear round and finishing in sixth place with the 11-year-old gelding Coulash van de Broy Z (Cadence VT Gelutt x Lys De Darme) securing 45 World Ranking Points. Also Colombian Carlos Hernando Ramirez took 12th place to stay within the points, exceeding the regular round time allowed and totaled 5 fouls along with the 10-year-old stallion Happy Wandor van’t Roosakker (Wandor van de Mispelaere x V Cento).
