Venezuelan rider Luis Fernando Larrazabal got the victory in his first 2018 Grand Prix in the United States, dominating the $25,000 Fox Lea Grand Prix.
Representing the Venice Equestrian Tour week 1 Grand Prix and its third edition of the Venice Equestrian Tour, Venezuelan rider Luis Fernando Larrazabal showed the way in an impeccable tiebreaker round with his speedy 11-yearold gelding G & C Close Up (Clooney x Cobra) owned by San Francisco Stables LLC.
The course designed by Paul Jewel of the United States of America was the stage for 11 pairs that gave everything to look for their jump-off classification, where only 3 riders would enter their name in the decisive stage, but nobody could be faster than Luis Fernando Larrazabal, who finished in time of 39.28 seconds and being his advantage of 5 seconds before his closest follower.
After his strong victory, Luis Fernando Larrazabal commanded the Latin Grand Prix’s dominion, finishing one-two with Roberto Daza of Bolivia. In case of Bolivian rider Roberto Daza registered the first of the three double clear rounds that returned to the jump-off with the 12-year-old Stallion Biscayo, finishing with a time of 43.07 seconds.
One of the favorites at Venice Equestrian Tour are Christi Israel and not disappointing its audience ended up, occupying the third place in time of 45.02 seconds, representing the third and last double clear round.
The top five finishers were completed in fourth place by Brian Murphy accompanied by Mimmo T.Z. achieving the fastest 4-fault regular round in 80.54 seconds and fifth place the Welcome’s winner Tracy Magness of the United States showing up with the 10-year-old mare Intenz van HD (Elvis Ter Putte x Reve Nabab).
