Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten took the most important victory of the CSI3* De Peelbergen Wintertour 2017 – Week 1 in Kronenberg.
Being the first week of activities, home rider Maikel van der Vleuten achieved a fast jump-off round with the 11-year-old gelding Salomon (Stolzenberg x Aramis) and stopped the clock in 33.44 seconds to ensure 50 World Ranking Points on course designed by Henk Linders.
After scoring the best time of the tiebreaker by Maikel van der Vleuten, the second place was for Italian rider Emanuele Camilli with his 13-year-old gelding Emporio van’t Roosakker (Reve x Chin Chin) in 33.99 seconds and third place was another home rider with Leopold van Asten next to the 13-year-old gelding VDL Groep Zidane (Heartbreaker x Calando I).
The best Pan American Ranking representative was two-time US Olympic medalist Laura Kraut, setting a good pace with the 10-year-old gelding Viper Vrombautshoeve Z (Verdi) owned by Old Willow Farms, taking fourth place in 35.23 seconds.
Closing the Top 5 Antonio Alfonso of Italy accompanied by the 8-year-old mare Dream van Generhese (Idian Gold Van x Bon Amo) achieving a time of 35.42 seconds, where the Parkhotel Horst Prix Grand Prix CSI2* had the participation of 60 pairs and deciding 17 classified riders to the tiebrake, who presented an strong fight for the victory.
By Latino Ranking its members were very even in the results when totalizing all 8 faults regular round, finishing Joao Eduardo Ferreira De Carvalho in 43rd place with the 9-yearold gelding Andreas Spb Z (Air Jordan Z x Lan Daris), followed by also Brazilian Nando de Miranda in 44th place with the 9-year-old mare Czarina Jmen (Clavigo Jmen x Contender) and Mexican rider Jaime Guerra Piedra followed them in 45th place with the 10-year-old mare Zamia 3 (Aljano x Dream O. Glory), leaving them out of the points.
