Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten took an easy win in the €30,000 International Final class 1.45m at CSI5* Helsinki.
Consisting of 24 pairs the course designed by Brazilian Guilherme Jorge, the Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten knew how to correctly dose his 9-year-old mare Dana Blue (Mr. Blue x Hemmingway) owned by Paul Bocken & Springstal van der Vleuten, where the World number 10 stopped the clock in 53.62 seconds and secured 50 World Ranking points.
Achieving a comfortable advantage against his closest rival, Maikel van der Vleuten beat the Italian rider Luca Maria Moneta with his 16-year-old Neptune Brecourt (Cavalor Cumano x Kayack), scoring a time of 56.37 seconds and third place It was occupied by Swiss Olympic gold medalist and world number 14 Steve Guerdat, yesterday’s winner accompanied by the 9-year-old gelding Urzo d’Iso (Number One d’Iso x Viking d’Oria) at 57.28 seconds.
They followed in the final order for the top five by Tobias Meyer of Germany in fourth place with the 18-year-old stallion Skik (Manhattan x Concorde) in 57.52 seconds and fifth for the two-time Swedish Olympic medalist Peder Fredricson with the 9-year-old gelding H&M Carat Desire (Carinjo x Latus II) in 57.85 seconds.
By the Latino Ranking his two representatives managed to finish within the points with Yuri Mansur of Brazil marking the best time in 11th place, after completing his round in 4 fouls with the 10-year-old gelding Inferno (Incolor (old) x Italic Des Salines (SF)) and his countryman and former Latino Ranking leader Marlon Modolo Zanotelli finished 13th in time of 59.14 seconds accompanied by the 13-year-old gelding Extra van Essene (Diamant de Semilly x Gotthardsen).
