With only 15 pairs, the second class of the CSI 3* HITS Thermal and the dispute of the $36,500 Desert Classic was realized with a very tight victory of the American rider Mandy Porter.
In the company of 12-year-old stallion Coral Reef Follow me II (For Pleasure x Sandro) owned by Coral Reef Ranch, Porter was featured in the tiebreaker round by scoring a 4-hundredth-second lead over Frenchman Eric Navet with her round of 41.67 seconds, while Navet with the 11-year-old gelding Basimodo (Quasimodo Z x Codexco) owned by Signe Ostby assuring a time of 41.71 seconds.
For the Top five German Christian Heineking took third place in 42.24 seconds with NKH Quanto (Quidam of Revel x Capitol I), followed in fourth place by Mandy Porter herself who completed a great day marking a time of 42.30 seconds with Milan (Orlando x Pomme Royal), closing the fifth position the Austrian Peter Petschenig and Saint Quentam (Revel X Jasper’s Quidam) in 41.03 seconds.
