The third FEI victory of the CSI4* Salzburg in Austria was for German rider Marcel Marschall, who completed a formidable jump-off round.
Disputing the €40,000 Pappas Championat of Salzburg on course designed by Austrian Franz Madl, a total of 33 pairs encouraged the regular round, then gave way to the tiebreaker with 10 riders led by Marcel Marschall.
Appearing with the 12-year-old mare Fenia van Klapscheut (Cicero Z van Paemel x Ahorn Z) owned by MSM Marschall Sportpf, the German rider Marcel Marschall completed his tiebreaker in 36.52 seconds and secured 50 World Ranking points.
Marking an advantage of more than 1 second, Marcel Marschall beat Frenchman Emeric George with his 9-year-old gelding Chopin des Hayettes (Radco d’Houtveld x Nimmerdor), with a time of 38.09 seconds and Poland Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski take the third place marked a time of 38.39 seconds with the 8-year-old gelding Calevo (Casall x Levantos I).
The Top 5 was completed in fourth place by Holger Heizel of Germany in 39.29 seconds, accompanied by the 13-year-old gelding Legioner (Limbus x Calido I) and fifth place the flying Dutchman Gerco Schröder with the 13-year-old stallion Glock’s Zaranza (Karandasj x Heartbreaker), registering a time of 39.71 seconds.
Turning to the Pan American Ranking was not the best presentation for the American rider Andrew Kocher, totaling 16 fouls in the regular round to occupy the 29th place with the 11-year-old mare Artemise du Houssoit (Sherman Sitte x Ksar-Sitte).
