German rider Marcus Ehning shone at home to take the win at €30,000 Championat von Paderborn, being the first FEI event of CSI3* Paderborn.
The course designed by Christian Wiegand took full advantage of the home riders, taking the top four places with Marcus Ehning leading the way in a complicated tiebreaker with 14 ranked riders.
This was how Marcus Ehning secured 50 World Ranking Points with the 12-year-old stallion Funky Fred (For Pleasure x Pilot), recording an unbeatable time of 33.03 seconds and being escorted by Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann with the 8-year-old gelding Buettner’s Minimax (Cornado x Antaeus) in 33.88 seconds, followed in third place by Toni Hassmann with the 11-year-old gelding Bien-Aimee De La Lionne (Balou du Rouet x Pit I) in 33.97 seconds and fourth place was Hans-Dieter Dreher accompanied by the 9-year-old mare Berlinda (Berlin x Gento) in 34.91 seconds.
It closed the Top 5 Spanish rider Paola Amilibia with her 10-year-old gelding Chac Balou N (Chacco-Blue x Balou du Rouet) in time of 35.03 seconds.
For the Pan American Ranking only participated the American rider Chloe Reid finalizing in 19th place, obtaining the best 4 fouls regular round with the 10-year-old gelding TNT Explosive (Tinka’s Boy x Calypso II).
