The fourth week of the CSI 3* Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2017 was the winner of the home rider Mario Wilson Fernandes, who dominated the speed class by overcoming Belgian Thierry Goffient and Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli.
With 59 riders in the competition, Mario Wilson Fernandes felt at home by stopping the clock in 59.51 seconds, unique in lowering the barrier of 60 seconds with 10-year-old gelding Tidelio des Nauves (Fidelio of Thot x Socrate de Chivre), giving himself 50 World Ranking points and €6,150 for his result. The second position and 70 hundredths of a second slower was the Belgian Thierry Goffinet with 11-year-old gelding Artuur Jh Z (Andiamo x Baloubet du Rouet), who failed to decipher the final line as the winner, conforming with 45 FEI Ranking points.
For the Latin Ranking again the Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli shone, getting a good to be in the third place. Adding interesting points to his account for this month, he was able to add another 40 FEI Ranking points this time, after completing his speed course in 61.22 seconds with 9-year-old stallion Dienellie (Berlin x Lupicor). Also with good result was the Mexican Alberto Harari and the 10-year-old mare Queen 2000 Z (Quidam de Revel x Jalisco B) placing in 12th place, by exceeding the regular time allowed and being penalized with 1 foul. The Brazilians Cassio Rivetti and Adir Abreu Junior closed under the points with a tie in the 15th place, marking the same time of 62.87 seconds with 4 fouls. Out of the points were Joao Victor Castro of Brazil in 24th, followed by Chilean Tomas Couve Correa in the 26th place, his fellowmen Bernardo Naveillan was 36th and Brazilian Felipe Ramos Guinato retired.
