Swiss Martin Fuchs dominated the day’s most important class at the CSI 5* Al Shaqab in Doha, adding 130 World Ranking points as a winner after defeating and avoiding one-two by Belgian riders Niels Bruynseels and Pieter Devos.
Delivering a total of 154,000 Euros for the Top 12, Fuchs stopped the clock in 36.91 seconds for his jump-off with 10-year-old stallion Chaplin (Verdi x Concorde) owned by G. Knoop, Slooptdorp; achieving a tight lead against Bruynseels and 11-year-old mare Gancia de Muse (Malito de Reve x Nimmerdor) who recorded a time of 37.47 seconds and Devos finished third in the order with the 12-year-old gelding Apart (Larino x Burggraf) in clear round of 37.64 second.
Top 5 finishers were Dutchman Maikel van der Vleuten in fourth place with VDL Groep Arera C (Indoctro x Voltaire) in 38.39 seconds and German Christian Ahlmann with Caribis Z (Caritano x Canabis Z) fifth in 38.61 seconds. World Ranking leader Daniel Deusser finished ninth with a 4 fouls jump-off round in 38.63 seconds with Firs Class Van Eeckelghem (Balou du Rouet x Feinschnnitt van de Richter).
