Swiss rider Martina Meroni take the first FEI victory at the beginning of the CSI 3* Roeser in Luxembourg, after completing a fast jump-off round during the Mako Trophy dispute.
With 63 pairs participating in the first round in a class prize of €24,600 and the classification of only 4 riders in the tiebreaker, Martina Meroni leading her 12-year-old mare Rock of Vains (Robin II Z x Galoubet A), stoping the clock in 39.37 seconds, to be the only double clear round of the competition and secure 50 World Ranking Points, representing her second 2017 FEI victory and in her career.
The second place was for Samy Colman of Morocco, recording a time of 39.81 seconds knocking down a pole with the 8-year-old gelding Vivaldi du Crann, while the final result of the jump-off was for Edwin Smits of Switzerland in third place, with 10 fouls in 53.23 seconds accompanied by the 13-year-old gelding Dondiego BZ (Dutch Capitol x Flemmingh) and fourth place and not returning for the jump-off was Philipp Züger of Switzerland.
Completed the Top 5 British rider John Whitaker with his fifth position, exceeding the time allowed of the regular round by 11 hundredths of a second, appearing with the 9-year-old gelding Crumley (Cassus x As di Villagana).
For the Latino Ranking, the Brazilian André Freire participated to finish in the 33rd position alongside the 11-year-old gelding Brownboy (Darandasj van de Heide x Onze Fons), totaling 9 fouls in 80.21 seconds.
