Frenchman Mathieu Billot took the win at the Francisco Moura Gran Premio of Vilmaoura in Portugal, completing his tiebreaking round in 44.11 seconds with 9-year-old mare Ilena S (Verdi x Calido I) owned by Scea Ecurie Billot – M. Serge Batailler.
The class that closed the CSI 3* week had a total of 49 pairs registered, but only 9 returned to watch Billot being escorted by the former leader of the Latino Ranking Marlon Modolo Zanotelli of Brazil.
In the case of Modolo Zanotelli, it had a week to recovering lost ground with respect to the good results, adding two good presentations occupying the second position, allowing him to add 90 FEI Ranking points with both results. Today it was presented with 11-year-old mare Sirene de La Motte (Apache d’Adriers x Uriel d’Orval) owned by S.A.R.L. Uranie, completing a time of 46.07 with no takedowns in his jump-off.
The rest of the Latino delegation only had one more representative within points, with Joao Victor Castro being in the eighth-place with 11-year-old gelding Quentin PJ (Quidam of Revel x Shield 19) accumulating 8 fouls. Out of the points were Brazilians Cassio Rivetti in 18th, Felipe Ramos Guinato of 29th and Adir Abreu Junior of 38th, while Mexican Alberto Harari finished in box 41st.
