Three-time Olympic medalist McLain Ward of the United States of America dominated the $25,000 Nutrena Jumper Classic with 15-year-old gelding HH Carlos Z (Chellano Z x Voltaire) owned by Double H Farm, recording an unbeatable time of 39.50 seconds.

After marking a time that seemed unlikely to beat by Sergio Alvarez Moya of Spain with 9-year-old G&C Durania K (Douglas x Sydney) in 40.66 seconds, Ward simply sprayed the record to win the victory in a class with 78 pairs.

The second position was Irishman Darragh Kenny and Bolero III (Chatman x Darco), a 10-year old gelding owned by Kerry Anne LLC, completing his course in 40.32 seconds while the Spaniard was in third place.

For the Latins, Peruvian Alonso Alvarez Prado recorded 42.81 seconds with 9-year-old gelding Chichester 3 (Casall x Cosimo) in fifth place followed by Venezuelan Emanuel Andrade from Venezuela with 16-year-old gelding Nokia de Brekka (Quick Star x Apache d’Adriers) in time of 43.20 seconds.

Today’s results were valid to qualify for the $100,000 Suncast Championship Series 1.50m Grand Prix, which will be held on Saturday night.
