The Belgian rider Niels Bruynseels was crowned grand champion at home, winning this afternoon at the Grand Prix of Liege with Cas Liberte, to set the fastest time of 34.42 seconds in the jump-off, leading a group of 48 competitors with 8 qualified for the final round.
In tough fight to victory which earned him 100 points for the World Ranking, Bruynseels overcame Brithish John Whitaker and Argento, who set the second fastest time in 35.11 seconds without penaltys. For the third Belgian Jerome Guery with Papillon Z shut the double clear competition in 35.95 seconds.
The great dominance of home riders was felt in the fourth and fifth starring Rik Hemeryck the playoff second fastest time in 34.78 seconds in the jump-off, but a takedown rail to total of 4 fouls and sent him straight to fourth place. Meanwhile Pieter Devos with Dream of India Greenfield close the group of the leading Grand Prix completing their court in 35.12 seconds and 4 fouls.
The Latin delegation was composed of Brazilian riders including the leader of the Latino Ranking Marlon Módolo Zanotelli, who did not have this time with a good presentation, leaving out d positions in 19th place with Captain Chaos 8 by adding a knockdown in regular round. Best in the competition was Yuri Mansur with Amor, also knocking down a rail to complete its round in 4 fouls in 16th place to take the last available points.
