French Olivier Robert was able to get a good lead in the Prize of Thermoplan AG speed class and took first win at the Longines CSI5* Basel.
For the third FEI event in Switzerland, the French rider Olivier Robert gave a new sample of his speed to ensure 50 World Ranking points with his victory, after he stopped the clock in 52.84 seconds on course designed by German Frank Rothenberger.
While the time taken by Olivier Robert was not with a bulky advantage with the 12-year-old gelding Forest Gump (Forsyth x Feuerwerk) owned by Bo Horse Trading, it was enough to overtake his fellowman Roger Yves Bost “Bosty”, occupying the second place in 53.61 seconds with the 15-year-old stallion Pegase du Murier (Adelfos x Le Tot de Semilly).
For the third place Swiss Alain Jufer pulled was the best home rider registered a time of 54.84 seconds with his 12-year-old mare Samira (Baloubino B x Sirius Son), while being followed by Swiss Olympic gold medalist Steve Guerdat next to the 9-year-old gelding Venard de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly x Djalisco du Guet) in 55.03 seconds and former World Ranking leader Simon Delestre of France, occupying the fifth place with the 9-year-old gelding Filou Carlo Zimequest (Crowns x For Pleasure) in 57.02 seconds.
By Latino Ranking Yuri Mansur of Brazil managed to add World Ranking points with his eighth position, completing his journey in 57.80 seconds accompanied by 10-year-old stallion Vitiki (Valentino x For Expo) owned by Clear Round, PSJ Unipessoal LDA.
