The second day of the CSI 5* Knokke in Belgium, started all train with the double phase victory of the Swedish rider Petronella Andersson, being their first 2017 FEI win.
The course designed by Uliano Vezzani of Italy for 35 pairs, gave Petronella Andersson the winner by completing her double phase in 25.70 seconds with the veteran horse Mouse (Limbus x Grundyman XX), a 19-year-old gelding owned by Stephex Stables, valued to the World Number 239, 50 FEI Ranking Points.
For second place Marcel Marschall of Germany stopped the clock in 26.30 seconds accompanied by the 16-year-old gelding Underrcontract (Andiamo x Jasper) and for third place Malin Baryard-Johnsson of Sweden in time of 26.86 seconds with the 9-year-old mare H&M Second Chance (Corland x White Clover).
Several of the favorites remained in the fight as was the house rider Pieter Devos occupying the fourth place, the French Penelope Leprevost finished sixth and the German Daniel Deusser followed in the seventh place. For the two best seeded of the class the French World Number 4 Kevin Staut finished with 4 faults in the 16th and World Number 3 Lorenzo de Luca of Italy, did it in a distant 29th place.
By the Pan American Ranking Laura Kraut of the United States maintained good pace to finish of 11th with the 8-year-old gelding Curious George (Codex One x Dutch Capitol).
Going to the Latino Ranking Colombian rider Dayro Arroyave toppled a pole in the second phase, completing the course in 4 fouls and 32.95 seconds with the 9-year-old mare Infinity (Cicero Z568000 x Ditmar 85.514).
