Swedish amazon Petronella Andersson guided the €30,000 Grote Prijs Ashford Farm CSI3*, concluding the CSI3* Opglabbeek week in Belgium.
The week’s main class counted with the participation of 53 pairs on course designed by Henk Linders of Holland, having a jump-off round to decide the winner, being in this case the women of Sweden who would take control with Petronella Andersson occupying first place.
Registering an unbeatable time of 41.34 seconds by Petronella Andersson accompanied with the 10-year-old mare Chloe’ (Chequille x Athletico) and taking 50 World Ranking Points, they were escorted to complete the one-two Swedish by Irma Karlsson next to the 9-year-old mare Ida van de Bisschop (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Papillon Rouge) in 41.98 seconds.
With only 7 riders returning to the jump-off, the third place was Irish rider Trevor Breen with the 10-year-old mare Bombay (Lord Z x Bon Ami) in 42.30 seconds, Belgium’s Guilles Dunon finished fourth with the last double clear round in 45.64 seconds, while fifth place was British rider Robert Whitaker in 4 fouls and 43.77 seconds with the 10-year-old gelding Cash Sent (Verdi x Niveau).
The only Latino Ranking representative was Colombian rider Santiago Díaz Ortega, but he accumulated 12 fouls that would ranked him 43rd with the 9-year-old gelding Carlson (Calido I x Silvio I), being very distant from the points.
