Dutch rider Piet Raijmakers Jr took the victory in the Roosendaal Grand Prix, to dominate the stellar class at home by 1 hundredths of a second.
After completing a regular round with 56 pairs, all the emotions of the class were experienced in the jump-off, with only 6 riders being classified and led by Piet Raijmakers Jr with his 12-year-old mare Amberlina (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Numero Uno) owned by Stal De Bruijn.
With very tight results among the 6 classified riders, the winner Piet Raijmakers Jr got a time of 35.09 seconds that earned him 50 World Ranking points in the €30,000 BVR Groep CSI2* Grand Prix at Christmas Show Den Goubergh 2017 – Roosendaal Week 1, under course design by Dutch Henk Linders, while second place was Danish Martin Dinesen Neergaard with the 9-year-old gelding Cannary (Caretino x Lavall I) in 35.10 seconds.
For third place and keeping a very similar rhythm was German rider Katherina Offel with the 8-year-old mare Elien (Carambole x Mermus R) in time of 35.88 seconds, while completing the Top 5 in fourth place Claire Putters of Belgium achieving a time of 37.87 seconds accompanied by the 12-year-old mare Fa Belle van Sombeke (Querlybet Hero x Mr. Blue) and fifth place home rider Glenn Knoester, being very close to snatch the victory, after that it marked the best time of the tiebrake in 34.60 seconds with the 12-year-old gelding Alpicor (Lupicor x Indoctro), accumulating definitively 4 faults.
By Latino Ranking Camila Mazza Smit of Brazil was best ranked in 19th place, totaling 8 fouls in her regular round with the 10-year-old gelding London Ajm (Lord Z x Clinton Jmen) and his fellowman Andre Reichmann accompanied by the 11-year-old mare Areeb OL (Coronet Obolensky x Spartan) retired.
