The third day of CSI 5* Knokke Hippique Week 1 featured home rider Pieter Devos, taking the scene in the €25,000 1.45m Tops Jumps Prize in Double Phase.

The course designed for 33 pairs by Italy’s Uliano Vezzani showed a solid Pieter Devos over the 10-year-old gelding Haloubet Hitchcock (Baloubet du Rouet x Heartbreaker), completing his round in 21.26 seconds to secure 50 World Ranking Points. The British rider John Whitaker and the 15-year-old stallion Argento (Arko III x Gasper) stayed close to finish seconds, recording a time of 21.88 seconds.

US Lucy Davis along with the 11-year-old mare Boucherom (Guidam Sohn x Quick Star) finished in third place with 22.63 seconds and fourth place US Catherine Tyree with the 11-year-old gelding Catungee (Contact ME x Liatos) in 23.13 seconds to secure 40 and 35 FEI Ranking Points respectively.

The best seed of the class and world number 3 Lorenzo de Luca of Italy, finished in seventh place with the 8-year-old mare Jeunesse van’T Paradijs (Emerald Van ‘T Ruytershof x Heartbreaker) registering a time of 23.31 seconds.
