Under the points format jumps with two Joker, the Belgian riders continue leading the way on the second day of CSI5* in Basel to show signs of superiority again to get the first and third place in the Prize of Grosspeter a Nutzfahrzeuge AG at height of 1.50m with the participation of 40 pairs.
Pieter Devos and the horse Espoir (Surcouf de Revel x Laudanum XX) a 12-years old gelding owned by Euro Equitation Bvba dominated the competition accumulating 70 points in the various jumps on the course to set a time of 49.11 seconds and beat Italian Emanuele Gaudiano that followed with the same number of points plus 13 hundredths of a second at the top. Gaudiano with his swift horse Cocoshynsky 13 (Cornet Obolensky x Popcorn) owned by Equita Kft were content to add another good performance for a second day, then they opened the competition schedule this week with a brilliant victory. The victory for Devos was the first of the week.
The winner of the third class in dispute and first of the day was Gregory Wathelet who ended in third place with the horse Balouzino (Baloubet du Rouet x Zeus Ang.N) on a parity important of points to complete the first 11 positions of the same amount with 70 points, but time brokered by the Belgian rider was 51.01 seconds that assured its position in the overall standings. For the fourth Egyptian Karim Elzoghby and 10-years old mare Colour Girl (Cormint x Locato) recorded a time of 52.15 seconds to ticking away on the third Belgian involved between the top five Jerome Guery occupying fifth place with Grand Cru van go Rozenberg (Malito de Reves x Heartbreaker 89.4335) a 10-years old gelding owned by the rider who completed their presentation time at 53.21 seconds.
The first points of 2016 for leading Latino Ranking Marlon Módolo Zanotelli of Brazil were due to the horse Casper (Lazio x Quidam’s Rubin) owned by Ashford Farming Ltd & Jos Lansin, ranking 13th by totaling 54 points for jumps performed in time of 72.20 seconds.
