World number 20 Pieter Devos of Belgium took the €100,000 Equita Masters victory, marking the conclusion of the second day at CSI5* Equita Lyon.
Seeking to establish himself among the World Top 20 riders, Pieter Devos very accurately led the 11-year-old stallion Gin D (Clinton I x Skippy II) owned by Devos Stables, completing a formidable round in a time of 38.90 seconds, representing his victory 46th FEI victory of his career under course design by French Gregory Bodo.
By Pan American Ranking stood out American rider Lauren Hough seizing the second place, planting hard fight against the winner and registering a time of 39.22 seconds in her Two Rounds, with the 14-year-old gelding Waterford (Coolcorron Cool Diamond x Julio Mariner XX) owned by Laura & Meredith Mateo.
With the result Lauren Hough added 80 World Ranking Points for 100 points that the Belgian Pieter Devos took with his victory.
They followed by Alberto Zorzi of Italy occupying the third place with 13-year-old mare Contanga (Catoki x Contango) in time of 39.93 seconds and representing the last clear round. For the fourth place was French rider Penelope Leprevost with the 9-year-old stallion Urano de Cartigny (Diamant de Semilly x Double Espoir) in 4 fouls and 36.77 seconds, leaving the fifth place for fast Irish rider Bertram Allen with his 11-year-old gelding Gin Chin van Lindenhof (Chin Chin x Calido I) in 4 fouls and 37.56 seconds.
The Latin Ranking rider had Yuri Mansur of Brazil got FEI Ranking points finishing 13th, after completing a first round in 8 fouls and 68.15 seconds, accompanied by the 10-year-old gelding Inferno (Incolor x Italic des Salines), while his fellowman and Latino Ranking leader Pedro Veniss opted to retire with the 12-year-old mare For Felicila (For Pleasure x Espri).
