Swiss Olympic medalist Pius Schwizer took the first victory for his country, after taking top honors in the Prize of Grosspeter Nutzfahrzeuge AG.
Representing also the first 2018 FEI victory for Pius Schwizer, the Swiss rider showed off at home for second day closed at Longines CSI Basel, accumulating 75 points in his presentation and a time of 41.21 seconds with the 11-year-old gelding Balou Rubin R (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin) owned by Werner Rütimann & Pius Schwizer.
Pius Schwizer also secured 50 World Ranking points with his victory and surpassed with a clear advantage French rider Aldrich Cheronnet with his 12-year-old stallion Atlantis by Wisbech (eT), who completed his field in 75 points and time of 44.20 seconds.
By Latino Ranking stood out Yuri Mansur from Brazil totaling the same 75 points in his accumulated and time of 44.84 seconds, which would ultimately represent him finishing third and adding 40 World Ranking points along with the 10-year-old mare Tinkerbell (Incolor x Argentinus) owned by Artic Partners, Clear Round.
Completed the top five finishers at CSI5* Basel third class Emanuel Gaudiano of Italy, winner of the first FEI event of the week, registering a time of 44.84 seconds with the 12-year-old stallion Jamar d’Ysenbeeck Z (Jah Diamant x Quidam de Revel) and fifth place Sameh The Dahan of Egypt got a time of 45.01 seconds with the 13-year-old mare Fairplay (For Pleasure x Emilion).
