The third day in Basel, Switzerland and the week CSI 5* had an exciting end to the tiebreaker during dispute of the Championat of Stadt Basel – “Golden Drum of Basel”, which was decided with a difference of 3 cents second.
With a great performance from Sweden’s Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, the winner took 80 World Ranking points, after stopping the cock in 43.20 seconds with the 18-year-old stallion Casall ASK (Caretino x Lavall I). The fight for victory was not easy, as Italian Lorenzo de Luca completed his court in 43.23 seconds with the 10-year-old stallion Halifax van het Kluizebos (Heartbreaker x Fetiche Du Pas), to fight for the conquest of the first place.
For the third and fourth place, two French riders took over the positions, with former world number 1 Simon Delestre owner of the third position with 12-year-old Chadino (Chacco-Blue x Narew XX) in a tiebreaker round with 5 fouls and 48.06 seconds, while Penelope Leprevost escorted him into the fourth place with the 12-year-old Ratina d’La Rousserie (Apache d’Adriers) knocking down two rails to total 8 fouls in 44.85 seconds. Closed the jump-off as fifth and last ranked in the final round Swiss Niklaus Rutschi and Windsor XV (Karandasj x Wellington) with a result of 14 fouls in 57.54 seconds.
