The Swiss Olympic team member Romain Duguet dominated the €24,600 Prijs Groep Jam-Mercedes CSI3*, the penultimate FEI event of the CSI3* Opglabbeek.
Showing in the jump-off round to earn 50 World Ranking Points with his victory, Romain Duguet accompanied by the 10-year-old mare Twentytwo des Biches (Mylord Carthago x Kalor du Bocage) recorded a time of 37.91 seconds and exceeded in close fight to Gilles Thomas of Belgium, who entered the course next to the 9-year-old stallion Uncas S (Udarco x Primo des Bruyeres) to stop the clock in 38.16 seconds.
Continued in the final order as the most outstanding in third place Petronella Andersson with the 8-year-old gelding Eclatant (Berlin x Heartbreaker) in 38.41 seconds, fourth place for Jörn Naeve of Germany with the 8-year-old gelding Benur du Romet (Balou du Rouet x Damour) in 38.62 seconds and fifth place was Charles Luycks of South Africa in 39.66 seconds with the 8-year-old mare Elina (Carambole x Coriano).
By Pan American Ranking US rider Michael Hughes stood out in ninth place with the 7-year-old gelding F (Baltic VDL x Chin Chin), finishing a fasted round in 36.76 seconds, but he knocked down a pole to total 4 fouls.
For the Latino Ranking luck was not on his side in this opportunity, completing Eduardo Damiani Filizola of Brazil with the 8-year-old mare Jella van’t Kathof (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Calvados) a 9 fouls regular round in the 47th place and his fellowman Pedro Muylaert with the 10-year-old gelding Cellagon Corray (Caretino x Corrado I) opted to retire.
