Chilean rider Samuel Parot started the CSI3* Rockwood in a forceful way by taking first and second place in the $40,000 Open Welcome FEI 1.50m.
The course designed by Iranian Hassein Shafiee served to reunite the former Latino American leader Samuel Parot with the victory, achieving in a decisive way his two jump-off rounds against another 10 riders classified.
Recording a time of 31.64 seconds with the 13-year-old gelding Quick du Pottier (Hurlevent de Breka x Cuba), South American Samuel Parot secured his 10th 2017 FEI victory and his 39th FEI career victory, to add 50 World Ranking Points with its result. Such was the dominance that the Chilean won on the jump-off, which also took the second place with the 14-year-old gelding Atlantis (Andiamo x Royal Bravour L) in 32.27 seconds.
For third place the ten times Canadian Olympic team Ian Millar went out of his way to beat Samuel Parot, but he was far apart in 34.12 seconds with the 14-year-old gelding Dixson (Vigo D’arsouilles x Olisco) while fourth place was also Canada’s Keean White with the 10-year-old mare Corette (Lupicor x Clinton) in 34.67 seconds and fifth place for American rider Kelly Soleau-Millar in 36.62 seconds accompanied by the 12-year-old mare Itty Bitty (Mr. Itt x Prospector’s Halo).
The Latino Ranking that had its greatest exponent last year at the top of the standings, also counted on the performance of the Venezuelan rider Juan Ortiz in the jump-off round, to finish in 12th place with Gaverdi Z (Clipper van de Begijnakker x Vas and Done Longaine) accumulating 12 fouls.
