Mexican rider Santiago Lambre repeated the dose of victory at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, dominating two of three FEI events in the week.
Presenting with the 9-year-old stallion Ibabco (Nabab de Reve x Darco), Santiago Lambre dominated the $35,000 Tryon 1.45m Challenge on course designed by Briton Richard Jeffery, achieving a time of 38.44 seconds in the jump-off round for 4 riders classified, being the first of three double clear rounds.
His second win of the week, Lambre take the first FEI class with Ibabco himself on Thursday, but now in a highly contested round he outperformed American Jonathan McCrea and the 12-year-old gelding Aristoteles V (Padinus x Lux), completing his course in 39.81 seconds, while New Zealander Sharn Wordley followed them in 39.84 seconds with the 9-year-old gelding Caiman des Sequias (Radco D’Houtveld x Feinschnitt-I van de Richter) in third place.
The representatives of the Latino Ranking headed by the winner Santiago Lambre, had results within the points by the Colombian Ilan Bluman and the Argentine Luis Pedro Biraben. In case of Bluman, he appeared with the 9-year-old mare Ina de Laubry (Alibi de Aubry x Carnute) in 13th place with 4 fouls in 77.91 seconds, while Biraben was with Colorado 210 (Crown x Lenardo) in 14th place with 5 fouls and 78.13 seconds.
