Second GP-Triumph for Luciana Diniz.

For the second time after 2013 Luciana Dinzi won the Grand Prix at the CSI Basel with a price winning total of 330’000 Swiss Francs. After her triumph with Lennox two years ago she won the main class at the 6 Longines CSI in Basel with Fit for fun. Surprising Marion Modolo Zanotelli and Scotsman Scott Brash, leader in the World Ranking List, finished on the second and third place.

The 44 years old mother of twins lives in Wachtberg in Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany). In the jump-off she was 68 hundredths seconds faster with her Hanoverian mare Fit for Fun than the Brazilian Marion Modolo Zanotelli with Extra van Essene. Scott Brash was also clear in the jump-off with Hello Sanctos, but had to be satisfied finishing 3rd. Diniz won 100’000 Swiss Francs for her victory; Modolo Zanotelli got 75‘000 and World Ranking List leader Brash received 50‘000 Swiss Francs.

Diniz hat to wait till the last rider had finished, before she could hug her horse and her groom. The Belgian rider Grégory Wathelet and Conrad where quicker over the six obstacles in the jump-off before he had a mistake at the last one.

Best Swiss was surprisingly Claudia Gisler from Seedorf in the Canton Uri. Her Holstein gelding Cordel didn’t make a mistake in both rounds, only a time fault, what ment missing the jump-off. She finished as 8th. One fault each in the second, slightly easier round, ment 14th place for Olympic Winner Steve Guerdat with Concetto Son and 15th for Werner Muff with Pollendre.
