Spanish rider Sergio Alvarez Moya take a new victory at the Longines Global Champions Tour by dominating the €155,000 Global Champions League in Berlin.
Being the speed class with the participation of 53 pairs, Sergio Alvarez Moya completed a impossible pace to reach by his opponents, stopping the clock in 55.40 seconds next to the 16-year-old gelding Carlo 273 (Contender x Cascavelle) owned by Marta Ortega, to add his seventh 2017 FEI victory and to assure 130 World Ranking Points with its today’s result.
The course designed by German Frank Rothenberger left several important questions, where world number 12 Sergio Alvarez Moya got a 26-cent second lead over former world leader Simon Delestre of France, who presented with the 12-year-old gelding Hermes Ryan (Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d’Anzex), while the British Ben Maher accompanied by the 9-year-old gelding Don Vito (Quaprice Z x Jus de Pomme), finished in the third place with a time of 56.16 seconds.
The best seed, world No. 1 and Pan American Ranking leader Kent Farrington of the United States, completed a good round with the 10-year-old gelding Creedance (Lord Z x Notaris) to finish in fifth place, result that allowed him to add 70 World Ranking Points to mark a time of 57.14 seconds.
