Sheikh Bin Khalid Al Thani wins the most prestigious Qatar Grand Prix.

Total joy reigned in H.H. The Emir’s Sword International Showjumping CSI 5* in Al Rayyan, with the victory in the most prestigious Grand Prix of Qatar by Sheik Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani.

In a disputed and complicated course for the participants under the design of the Italian Uliano Vezzani, a total of 27 pairs encouraged the competition divided into two rounds and a jump-off if necessary, which would arrive for the representative of house Shk. Ali Bin Khalid Al Thani and Saudi Abdullah Alsharbatly, the only ones to complete their two rounds with not fouls.

The winner was presented with 11-year-old mare Carolina 31 (Colman x Ramirado) owned by Stone Hill Farm, being the only one who would complete all of his fields in clear rounds and set a time in the jump-off of 41.90 seconds. For the second place Alsharbatly appeared with 14-year-old gelding Sunday (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Brownboy), knocking down a pole under a great effort to take the victory, but totaling 4 fouls in 39.63 seconds.

Completed with four fouls the two rounds and closed the group of the five best classified in the Grand Prix Derin Demirsoy of Turkey with the third position and 14-year-old stallion Harry K (Equest Carnute x Robin Z II), followed in the fourth place by Swiss Janika Sprunger and 12-yea-old stallion Aris CMS (BMC Nassau x Amethist) and Australian rider Edwina Tops-Alexander was fifth with 10-year-old mare California (L’Espirit x Libero H).

For the Latin Ranking Andrés Peñalosa of Colombia participated in a first round of 6 fouls and added 17 in the second round to great total of 23 faults, finishing in the 18th position with Tintin de La Pomme (Diamant de Semilly x For Pleasure).
