The world number 10 and former World Ranking leader Simon Delestre delighted the crow of Jumping de Megève 2017, completing as the only perfect Grand Prix rounds.
Playing the € 60,000 Grand Prix de Megève – Edmond de Rothschild with the participation of 55 pairs and a course design by Frenchman Frederic Cottier, one of his main international references of the show jumping Simon Delestre, completed a simply perfect jump-off round to award 50 World Ranking Points by stopping the clock in 39.91 seconds with the 12-year-old gelding Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto 4).
Having lost ground in the World Ranking, Simon Delestre has begun slowly to record good results that will undoubtedly help him rise in the coming months.
In what was again a clear dominion by the house riders occupying 9 of the first 11 places, Nicolas Deseuzes was in second with the 13-year-old mare Quilane de Lezeaux (Grenat de Grez x Page de Paulstra) on course of 4 fouls and 42.05 seconds, while Charlotte Gastaldi with the 12-year-old stallion Rolf des Grez (Diamant de Semilly x Laudanum) was third in a field of 4 fouls and 43.88 seconds.
The final jump-off round was also Frenchman Julien Gonin with the 11-year-old gelding Soleil de Cornu CH (Qredo de Paulstra x Le Tot de Semilly) totaling 8 fouls in 39.64 seconds, being cut in the fifth place by Guillaume Delhaye of Switzerland with the 12-year-old gelding Richebourg de Cartigny (Richebourg x Quidam de Revel) in fifth place, with the fastest 4 fouls regular round in 73.79 seconds.
