The second FEI day of the CSI 5* W-Leipzig started with the victory of Frenchman and former world No. 1 Simon Delestre in dominating the Championat of Leipzig, which distributed €61,250 and a car for the winner.
Trying to return to the top of the World Ranking, Delestre took a major victory with Jasmine Busson’s 12-year-old stallion Chadino (Chacco-Blue x Narew XX), completing his regular round and tie breaking with clear round in time of 41.14 seconds. With this result the winner added to his account for the month of January 80 FEI Ranking points, after he surpassed by 17 hundredths of a second the Briton Scott Brash.
Also ex-number 1 in the world, Brash completed her jump-off run in 41.31 seconds with the 10-year-old stallion Hello M’Lord (Krake Ask x Crelido) owned by Lord & Lady Harris & Lady Kidman, adding another good result will certainly help him climb from the 9th place in the World Ranking that occupies today.
Completing the Top 5 in the third place Andreas Kreuzer of Germany with the 11-year-old Quick Jumper (Quidam’s Rubin x Shield I) in time of 41,57 seconds, while the fourth position occupied Pieter Devos of Belgium with the 12-year-old gelding Apart (Larino x Burggraaf) in 41.78 seconds and fifth Italian Alberto Zorzi recording 44.26 seconds with 11-year-old gelding Cornetto K (Cornet Obolensky x Warm).
For the Latin and Pan Am Ranking Yuri Mansur of Brazil could not qualify for the tiebreaker, after beating in the regular round a pole and total 4 faults in 63.45 seconds with the 11-year-old mare Babylotte (Dollar du Murier x Concorde).
