Dutch rider Stefanie van den Brink dominated the tiebreaking round at CSI 2* Grote Prijs Germeente Opglabbeek of Belgium, to beat Gregory Wathelet and the best Latino rider Santiago Diaz Ortega from Colombia.
After 59 pairs Encourage the regular round, only 17 return to the jump-off with a very fast exhibition from Stefanie van der Brink and 15-year-old gelding Unex Omega Star (Quick Star x Quatoubet Du Rouet) to stoping the clock in 37.42 seconds and surpass the three best seeds of competition Scott Brash of Great Britain, Lorenzo de Luca of Italy and house representative Gregory Wathelet, being this last World No. 24 that would escort the winner by recording a time of 38.81 seconds with 9-year-old mare Iphigenia de Muze (Erco Van’T Roosakker x For Pleasure). For Latino Ranking Santiago Díaz Ortega stood out with his clear round and 39.01 seconds in the tiebreaker, to finish third, securing 40 FEI Ranking points with 9-year-old gelding Carlson (Calido I x Silvio I). Also participated Brazilians Fernando Chiarotto and Yuri Mansur finishing in positions 22nd and 23rd, followed by Colombian Andrés Quintero in 27th place, Joao Ferreira of Brazil in place 30th all with 4 fouls, while his fellowmen Caio Carvalho and Puerto Rican María Victoria Pérez retired.
