Swiss Olympic gold medalist Steve Guerdat dominated the scene at CSI 3* Roeser to win the Grand Prix de Luxembourg with the 11-year-old mare Cayetana (Robin II Z x Papillon Rouge).
Counting on the participation of 31 pairs in a complex course designed by Peter Schumacher of Germany, where them qualified for the tiebreaker or simply were eliminated or retired. That’s how world number 14 Swiss rider Steve Guerdat got the best of his show jumping with the mare owned by Gerardo Pasquel, to stop the clock in 43.40 seconds and take 50 World Ranking Points.
The victory of Steve Guerdat cut the possibility that the house riders occupy the one-two, having to settle for second place Marcel Ewen next to 13-year-old Excenel V (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Landetto) in time of 44.05 seconds and third was Christian Weier, recorded a time of 44.17 seconds with the 11-year-old stallion Global (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure).
The tiebreaker that featured 11 riders, the top five achieving double clear rounds with Angelique Rüsen of Germany in fourth place, getting a time of 45.65 seconds with the 11-year-old gelding Reabrir (Ricardos x Rombach) and fifth Samy Colman of Morocco in time of 46.13 seconds with the 11-year-old mare Simara Alía (Lux Z x Cacao Courcelle).
The class which also had 3 riders eliminated, 6 retired and 1 disqualified, watched retired Brazilian rider André Freire for the Latino Ranking, who could not decipher the questions with his 11-year-old gelding Brownboy (Darandasj van de Heide x Onze Fons).
