Swiss Olympic gold medalist Steve Guerdat closed the first day of CSI4* Ommen with a resounding victory in the jump-off.

Playing against the €24,600 Championat Ommen presented by Boehringer Ingelheim and Nijwa, Steve Guerdat secured 50 World Ranking Points with his victory, after stopping the clock in 38.78 seconds with the 9-year-old mare Ulysse Des Forets (Col Canto x Le Tot of Semilly) owned by Chc Horses Sa & Morosoli Domenico.

With this result for world number 7 Steve Guerdat, he now collects ten 2017 FEI victories, beating in the jump-off round the Dutch Williem Greve and Bart Bles. Being supportive on the part of the crowd for the house riders, Williem Greve appeared with the 13-year-old stallion Carambole N.O.P. (San Patrignano Cassini x Concerto 4) getting a time of 39.02 seconds and Bart Bles with the 15-year-old stallion Lord Sandro Ddh (Lordanos x Sandro) finished in 39.34 seconds.

By the Latino Ranking the Mexican rider Ernesto Canseco was the only one to add FEI Ranking Points, being penalized with 1 foul to exceed the time allowed in 77.56 seconds and occupy the 16th place with the 9-year-old gelding Davall (Zavall Vdl x Indorated).
