Belgian rider Wilm Vermeir masterfully led the 8-year-old stallion DM Jacgmotte (Toulon x Indoctro) to win the €62,000 Derby Tropicana.
Although only 9 pairs participated in the complicated and demanding course designed by Jean-Francois Morand for the Derby, only Wilm Vermeir would complete his course clear, but was penalized with 2 fouls to exceed the time, totaling 2 fouls in 172.46 seconds.
The big question for the competitors resulted in complicated of the time, obtaining Wilm Vermeir the fastest round despite the 2 faults, where even three of the participating riders, could not decipher the route including the elimination.
For the second and third place, the house riders took possession of the places, with Louis Bouhana occupying second with the 11-year-old gelding Sweet Phir (Quercus du Maury x Clown du Chesnay) totaling 5 fouls in 181.18 seconds and third was Philippe Rozier accompanied by Reveur de Kergane (Hornet Rose x Elan de La Cour) did in 7 fouls with 176.77 seconds.
The final standing included Paola Amibilia of Spain in fourth place with 10 fouls, French Alexandra Paillot with 19 fouls in fifth and sixth Michael Greeve of the Netherlands with 26 fouls. Those eliminated were Emanuele Gaudiano of Ireland, Gaetan Decroix of Belgium and American Adrienne Sternlicht.
