Belgian rider Wilm Vermeir won the first 2017 CSI 5* Dinard class at France, taking the €25,000 Prix Alvalle with two phases.
Participating 35 pairs in the a course designed by Frenchman Jean-Francois Morand and recording a time of 34.41 seconds, Wilm Vermeir along with the 11-year-old mare Gentiane de La Pomme (Schindler De Muze x Diamant de Semilly) took the first place securing 50 World Rankings Points, while escorted by the two house riders Louis Bouhana and Nicolas Delmotte.
With the advantage of 39 hundredths of a second, Wilm Vermeir got his fifth 2017 FEI victory against Frenchman Louis Bouhana with the 11-year-old gelding Shamrock du Niro (Wonderboy x Vert et Rouge), completing his two phases at 34.80 seconds and Nicolas Delmotte with the 14-year-old gelding Darmani van T Heike (Grandeur x Voltaire) did it in 35.57 seconds. They were followed by Laura Renwick of Great Britain in fourth place and Anthony Condon of Ireland in the fifth to complete the top five finishers.
For the Pan American Ranking, the Americans Adrienne Sternlicht and Catherine Nicole Tyree finished in 7th and 8th place accompanied Sternlicht by the 9-year-old mare Cristalline (Crystal 1 x Caretello B) in time of 37.46 seconds and Tyree doit with the 13-year-old gelding Enjoy Louis (Coriano x Kannan) in 37.60 seconds.
For the Latino Ranking the Mexican rider Federico Fernandez managed to score World Ranking Points, occupying the tenth place along with the 9-year-old stallion Pegasso (Cassini I x Contender) and completing his two phases in 38.10 seconds.
