The second day of CSI4* Casas Novas 2017 in La Coruna had the Canadian Yann Candele as winner of the €62,000 Trophy Longines.

Introducing himself with the 9-year-old mare Usa Normande (Made In Semilly x Urbain du Monnai) owned by Paillot Equestrian Inc., Yann Candele handled with precision of course designed by Javier Trenor Diaz in a Winning Round, to get a time of 41.82 seconds that earned him 80 World Ranking Points.

Canadian Olympic team member and Pan American gold medalist Yann Candele secured his second 2017 FEI win by beating Grudrun Patteet of Belgium, who for the second class in a row finished in second place, being accompanied on this occasion by the 9-year-old gelding Sea Coast Ideo d’O (Bentley x Querlybet Hero) with a time of 42.18 seconds.

Completed the top 5 Spanish riders Julio Arias in third place with Reggae du Tillard (Jarnac) in 42.81 seconds and Diego Perez Bilbao in fourth place with HH Best Buy (Baloubet D. Ro x Cassini I) in 43.21 seconds, while the Egyptian rider Abdel Said was fifth with Jumpy van de Hermitage in 44.55 seconds.

For the Latino Ranking all its representatives only participated in first round, being out of the points and finishing in consecutive positions accumulating 8 faults with the Brazilian Felipe Ramos Guinato in 29th next to Zenzero (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Burggraaf), Dayro Arroyave of Colombia was 30th with Uppercut Libellule (Jarnac SF x Papillon Rouge) and Patricia Alvarado from Venezuela followed in 32nd place with Souchka du Lys (Calvaro x Carnute).

 

Final Results
